Legends of Golf starts off in April. This champions tour PGA event
made Savannah its permanent home in 2003. Also in April is the Night
in Old Savannah Blues & BBQ Festival! The Roundhouse Railroad Museum
will be filled with sounds of great blues and aromas of slow-cooked
barbecue. April 25-26 is the Savannah NOGS Tour of Hidden Gardens.
This walking tour includes 8 walled gardens and the award winning
Massie School Garden, one of the Garden Club's community projects.
Through the end of April and into May is the Savannah Seafood Festival
Surfin' on the Savannah River with sensational seafood, live
entertainment, daily beach party bash and much more!
Also at the same time is the Savannah Shakespeare Festival which
offers 4 days of Shakespeare classics performed live in one of
Savannah's historic parks. May 7 the Savannah College of Art and
Design's Sand Arts Festival takes place.
Here sand-loving SCAD students create forms in the sand on the beaches
of Tybee Island. The Tybee Island Beach Bum Parade takes place toward
the end of May. It celebrates the arrival of summer with the world's
largest water fight! June 8-10 is the 2004 Sea Island Summit. The G8
Summit brings together leaders of the world's major industrial
democracies: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia, the United
Kingdom, and the United States to discuss a wide range of
international issues. |
